The time period within March to April was an abrupt and radical transition where the community, specifically the SF community, was placed on lockdown. Overall, SF State announced its suspension of events on Monday, March 9, and officially suspended Face-to-Face classes on Tuesday, March 10. With this in mind, the Bay Area officially began its shelter in place on Monday, March 16.

Looking back on life before the lockdown and during the quarantine, there is a prevalent social and communal difference evident between these time periods. Looking at images in our camera roll, we maintain memories of society through the depictions of life before the quarantine. With the circumstances changing, we continue to take pictures but we acknowledge the depicted contrasts in tone and content. Through this, we recognize camera roll images as a documentation of life before and during the shelter in place.

With memories and images in mind, the DocFilm Fellows have actually decided to share their camera roll with all of you; particularly images that document events between March and April. Through this, we aim to show you a major change through these depictions.

Overall, each DocFilm Fellow has been assigned a day of the week in which each fellow will share their pictures within the corresponding day!
